AlgaeTec - AEB

Postby benthonic » Fri Nov 19, 2010 1:58 pm

AlgaeTec Limited (AEB) (http://www.algaetec.com.au) is a US/Australian collaborative which has the rights to an industrial engineered solution for the large scale growth of algae. AEB is raising up to $7.50 million via an IPO listing on the ASX. The offer closing date is 26th November 2010.

The founders of AlgaeTec have developed the industrial growing procedure over a 7 year period. Initially 60 microalgae were identified, and subsequently 6 have been used. The bench top and laboratory trials were finally completed successfully, and a pilot plant was erected and trials conducted. After 4 months continuous production the team are totally satisfied that the process will work at industrial scale.

Four revenue streams are achievable from the algae. First, ethanol from the simple sugars, pelletised animal feed from the proteins, biodiesel fuel from the vegetable oil and finally green jet fuel from the biomass ie sugars plus protein. AlgaeTec has leading edge technology for the commercial production of algae.

Investment Highlights
- Advanced stage microalgae production technology
- Internal validation via a full pilot plant trial has been completed.
- Strong patent position, exclusive worldwide rights.
- As an engineered industrial solution, in an enclosed module, which is a standard, 40 foot sea container.
- High production on a relatively small footprint.
- A large scale carbon capture mechanism.
- Demonstration plant up and going during 3rd quarter 2011 near Nowra, New South Wales.
- Commercial facility targeted for 3 years, likely to be the first globally.
- Scale up in Australia, USA and China will achieve significant revenue streams.
- Experienced board and management
- Conservative valuation as compared to others aspirants in the broader industry. $A45MM pre-IPO versus $US100 ++.

The Offer - AlgaeTec is offering 37.50 million shares at 20 cents per share. The minimum subscription is $5 million. On listing the Market Capitalisation of AEB will be $A52.50 million, assuming full subscription of $7.50 million. watchlist time has come (and gone)?

up 30% in last few days after treading water since initial float flurry

La Jolla Cove investments has injected capital - a convertible note for $6mill over 3 years. (can imagine the conditions = return to LJT - would be asymmetric), and signed a collaboration contract for algae biofuels prod facility in Asia

All rather vague
