Diana Krall, could not agree more.

We seem to have an endless parade of.. the latest pretty face with a recording contract.

This is a pretty face, but with musical talent.
Cheers..

A couple of other female artists - must listen to/ must haves. (but p'raps acquired tastes??)

Eva Cassidy "live from blues Alley" Song Bird" and the duet album with that black R'nB singer guy - can't for the life of me remember his name, right now. She is gone but not forgotten. Ideal artist - no compromise; just wanted to sing.

And a bit eclectic, and must be played loud, is Loreena McKennit - her last 2 studio albums plus "Live in Paris AND Toronto" Saw her live in Turin in '99. Wow.

Heard Diana Krall on the radio yesterday doing Billy Joel's "just the way you are"

Best version I have heard yet. Anyone know which album this is off?

Thanks,

H.B.

Hornblower / sing and others ,
This Diana Krall is just a phemomenal jazz artist .
Guess what ? I recorded her one hour 96 Montreal Jazz festival performance from Ovation ( cable network ) , and by mistake , somebody in this house , has erased it by recording some other stupid MTV something on the same tape. How can I retrieve it ? anyone's idea ? cheers eG

Sorry eG,
don't have that '96 DK performance. I can only suggest, if you can't get it otherwise, Amazon by mail order, and hopefully the $AUD doesn't take off while you're waiting..

and I just remembered

- a local chanteuse, less knock your socks off than Ms Krall, you could you do worse than try the Christine Sullivan CD "Live at Mietta's" 1993. Excellent, subtle, stylish.
