What cookie?

What cookie?

Postby lazydays » Thu Jun 07, 2007 2:09 pm

I,ve updated my virus program and it found a lot of cookies that mainly track user info etc. I deleted all the nasty looking ones and ticked the box "never allow"
Since then I've obviously stopped the cookie from this site that remembers my log in details and stops showing "new posts"
Can any body tell me which cookie they have on there PC for this site so I can turn off my virus program, allow the cookie to install and then reset my virus program to "allow"

.............thanks

the cookie should look like

username @ www .sharesguru.txt or username @ sharesguru.txt

( without the spaces which i included to stop the post creating a link ! )

where username is the computer user not your sharesguru log in name

usually found in windows/username/ cookies, or if you have XP in
documents and settings/ username / cookies

you need to be a bit careful restricting cookies because some of them are used to remember your settings at sites you go to regularly

most useful cookies have some indication of the website in their name

you could try turning off the virus scan, accessing the sharesguru site, then checking what cookies have been installed.

If you run a program called Spybot then it will delete any commercial cookies for you without deleting useful ones. You can also set Spybot to prevent spyware programs from creating cookies.

Hope this is helpful, I am not a tech expert.

Cheers
